A personal message...
Hi, Iâm Saleema Noon, a sexual health educator with over 25 years of experience teaching in schools. I know how challenging conversations with our kids about important stuff can be, because no amount of teaching could have prepared me for my biggest challenge yet: being a stepmom to two girls. Because of my work, I figured I'd nail it with Afton and Kate. But it was tougher than I expected to engage them. So I totally get it if you feel overwhelmed by questions you have no clue how to answer, or feel like your message doesnât always land.
I want to be your backup as you navigate often clunky conversations with your kid about bodies, puberty, social media, safety, sex...and everything in between.
One way I can do this is to offer you my very best insight on smart things to know, do and say when talking about even the most awkward of topics. When you subscribe to my Empowered Kids newsletter, you'll get a new Smart Things to Say resource straight to your inbox every other Saturday morning. Join my community of proactive parents like you and let's start talking!
